Thai Erewan was a surprise. I guess you would figure that a restaurant in an up-scale area would be great, but Thai Erewan was still a surprise.

When you first enter the door there is a little vestibule of sorts and you are presented with a large bronze looking image with water showering down in front of it (Siam Spice in Daytona has one, but theirs is off to the side of the restaurant - some customers don't even get near it). Thai Erewan's waterfall sculpture makes a striking entryway.

As you enter the restaurant proper you see that the place is impeccably decorated. The staff are scurrying around taking care of people. It is busy, but it's a "controlled quiet" kind of busy. It's not a loud raucous kind of busy like some places have. The walls are well decorated with Thai pictures and what look like carvings or castings. It is well done so that it integrates with the furnishings and the floor covering. Some restaurants look like they were decorated by three different people; not so at Thai Erewan.

We started with fresh rolls. They were not on the menu, but evidently they are so popular they keep some in the back. Theirs were pretty large and had small shrimps in them. They came with two different sauces for dipping.

I had Squid and vegetables in brown sauce over rice and my partner had masaman curry with tofu and vegetables over rice. The food was outstanding. All foods seemed to come out almost immediately. I was told there were 15 people at work in the kitchen. Wow! That was some service.

The parking was excellent in the Granada Plaza (where Granada meets Route 1) within a stone's throw of the beach. Restrooms were extremely clean and spacious. Price was a little high, but you're paying for excellent food, classy ambiance, and outstanding service.
